First off, there are a few things you should know. Getting a 6 pack abs is not about how many ab exercises you — it’s about lowering your body fat.

Yes, that’s the dirty truth – in order to see your six pack, you have to reduce your stomach body fat level. There are two ways to do so: eat less or move more. the point is at the end of the day, you want to be slightly under your body’s daily caloric requirements. This means if you need 2000 calories to maintain your weight, you want to be a few hundred calories below that at the end of the day, to force your body to eat your body fat. Here are some ways to get a six pack.

Eat Healthy

Yes, this is one thing that most people don’t actually want to hear. But it’s true. If you want a six pack, you are going to need to clean you your diet. You can eat junk food everyday and expect to have a six pack. A six pack diet will only ever include lean proteins like turkey and chicken breasts, some lean fish meat, with maybe some tuna and buffalo thrown in for good measure. And lots of egg whites. You will also need to consume a lot of complex carbs like brown rice, brown pasta, or yams/sweet potato. You need a variety of fresh fruits and veggies as well, and a good amount of water.

Eat More Regularly

You need to eat six times a day – smaller portions. Eating 5-6 times a day increases your metabolic rate which increases how many calories you burn.

Do Exercise

You will need to do cardio for 30 minutes a day for 3-5 times a week. This will help burn your calories off and ensure your body is eating it’s body fat.

Lift Weights

While you don’t always need to do this, it’s highly recommended if you want that chiseled washboard ab look. Your entire body will look cut – not just abs. If you are serious about developing a six pack, you will need to hit the gym regularly.

These are some of the key components you can expect if you want to get ripped and show off your six pack. If this sounds like a lot of work, feel free to look online for ‘instant 3 minute’ six pack solutions. However, don’t expect any results. Sculpting your body is a process that takes months – NOT days. While you may be able to lose a bit of water weight in a week, you won’t be showing of your abs and you certainly won’t be able to get that ‘cut’ look that you see on guys with perfect abs.
